Part of being a good dog trainer is understanding what motivates your dog such as food, affection, or toys. Your dog’s favorite toy can be used to teach it obedience, agility, or even detection. Handlers can easily promote value in their training by restricting the use of novel training aids and employing good timing. Provide your dog with verbal praise and affection when the dog engages in desirable behavior.
